Values and development of intrapersonal intelligence

During early childhood, and more particularly during the first three years of life, children learn and develop in different areas more quickly than at any other stage. During this period, the brains of children is highly responsive and able to develop if given proper stimulation.

More and more studies in the field of Evolutionary Psychology, Medicine and Education show the importance of early childhood, from birth to 6 years in the development of intelligence, personality and social behavior. The intrapersonal intelligence is one of the eight intelligences identified by Dr. Howard Gardner, and is the ability to develop the girl child and contact with his own emotional life, to recognize their feelings, and understand the emotional processes emotional background of his conduct. It also has to do with the ability to solve problems and face new situations in an assertive way. The development of values such as solidarity, respect, cooperation and teamwork, from an early age allows the child and the child to recognize the wide range of emotional nuances that contain these values, and therefore to know better through their own inner experience.

In this sense, we know that the better you know a child is more likely to generate a vision of himself (a) realistic and appropriate, which in turn leads to self-esteem. To encourage the development of these values, it is vital that the child and the child have the opportunity to share with other children of similar ages, and foster situations and games where should cooperate among themselves (as) and / or act in solidarity, and in those who must achieve common goals. If the child or the child spends most time with adults, it is important to make him share in some household chores, provided you are able to do it and no risk.
